Funeral worthy of a Watcher??
Jul. 26th, 2013 10:23 pmAfter I had gotten the legal aspects taken care of Angel decided to let Wes' family take care of the funeral arrangements with one small exception, we held the funeral for him at night, and, fitting the mood, it was one of the few times in California that it was raining. It wasn't just a light sprinkling, either. It was pouring down. The people that were there were all huddled underneath umbrellas while the Anglican (Wes's father insisted) priest said the funeral mass for him.
I wasn't really even listening to the priest as he went on and on. I knew that Wes would hate this funeral. It wasn't really him at all. Angel however had pointed out that the fact that we were able to bury him here in LA was a fight enough, so Angel kind of let his family deal with the rest.
I stood there watching Wesley's mother, who could not seem to stop crying. I then glanced over at his father and then I moved over to where Angel was standing. "I could just stake you, what the hell were you thinking, letting his family put this together?!" I hissed at Angel as the priest droned on. What I really wanted to do was scream at him to shut the hell up,Wes wasn't remotely religious! As if all of this wasn't bad enough Wes's father had a decent amount of Watchers here and there was a lot of pomp and circumstance I've noticed that apparently goes along with being a Watcher dead or alive. I'm just somewhat relived that it's being held at the Hyperion.

They have rights to and it doesn't matter if you disagree with it. It's done. We just have to get through this." Her impertinence irritated him. He hadn't expected them to bury Wesley here and it hurt that they did. This was his home. There was enough death around. The silver lining was that he could visit Wesley anytime he wanted to.

Date: 2013-07-27 07:20 pm (UTC)Once I was back in the hotel I sat down in Angel's office, with the bottle of whiskey that had been left on the desk.
Roger'd noticed her alright,he noticed her from the second she'd showed up. He had no bloody clue who she was or what if anything she had to do with his son. once the priest had finished,Roger escorted his wife back into the hotel and to an empty room to lie down. Once that was done he found Angelus in his office arguing with the woman who had stormed out. He stood in the doorway for a moment listening.

So long as he gets put in the ground with respect, that's all that matters!" His temper had flared over the conversation and he thought it was ridiculous. It was then that he noticed Roger in the door way, his head swiveling around sharply to eye him before turning his back and getting himself a glass of whiskey. It was going to be a drinking day, he could tell.

I looked Roger over some more . "Hmm...not as impressive in person.." I said before taking another swig of the whiskey and recrossing my legs;that hung off the edge of Angel's desk, which I was perched on.
Roger simply rolled his eyes. "I was actually wondering why you made such a spectacle of storming out of the funeral like that?" he asked Lilah.
I looked at Roger then over to Angel. "Oh where to start.." Well at least he'd noticed my little exit from the sad excuse for funeral proceedings.

I continued to glare at Roger as he spoke. "Didn't do as well?! And it's a little late don't you think,to treat him like a Wyndam Pryce? Maybe you should've done that more when he was alive." I shot back. It's weird I didn't think I'd be *this* upset and down right outraged before, although some of this could be the grief talking or the whiskey. Roger's lucky I haven't thrown anything at his over pompous head yet.

Date: 2013-07-27 08:30 pm (UTC)Roger looked at Angel. "I'm sorry, but your opinion matters very little here Angelus,he may have made the mistake of associating with the likes of you,but he was still my son." He then turned to Lilah. "As for you I'm not entirely sure why exactly you're here..."
I looked over at Angel then back at Roger. For the first time since Wes died I was at a loss for words. I didn't move from where I was sitting though. I wasn't going to give that smug British bastard the satisfaction of watching me storm out.
